Mössbauer spectroscopy
powerful tool for material research

Use the experiences of researchers from Palacký University Olomouc for non-destructive analysis of iron containing materials!

WHAT WE OFFER

  • structural, phase, and magnetic characterization of iron containing samples using transmission MS method
  • element selective (Fe, Sn) determination and qualification of phase composition of samples including amorphous and nanocrystalline
  • determination of valence and spin states of iron atoms, differentiation of structure positions of iron atoms, stoichiometry examination of cation substitution
  • magnetic state determination and local configuration of magnetic moments of the atoms
  • measurement of temperature dependences, measurement in external magnetic field

About Mössbauer spectroscopy

ABOUT MÖSSBAUER SPECTROSCOPY

> Mössbauer spectroscopy (MS) is based on resonant emission and absorption of gamma rays.

> MS is used to study various sample types (including both nano-sized objects and bulk materials) with specific nuclei.

> MS is limited on solid samples only (frozen liquids are also suitable).

> MS gives both physical and chemical structure information.

> Radioactive source is required for MS.

> MS is extremely precise, non-destructive analysis technique.

> MS is capable to analyze samples with low-concentration of specific nuclei.
